These recipes are from one of my former YW leaders, Sister Eaton. They make soft cookies like Granny B's.
1 C. butter
2 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 C. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 tsp. baking powder
4-1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
In large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, and vanilla and mix well. Stir in baking soda, baking powder, flour, and salt until just combined. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly spray cookie sheet with Pam. Divide dough in half. Roll each half 1/4-inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are light brown. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Frost with buttercream frosting tinted with food color.
